Day 1

Moshi to Umbwe Cave Camp

Steep forest ridge climb straight out of Umbwe Gate.

Umbwe Cave to Barranco Camp

Narrow ridge with big exposure and views, into the Barranco Valley.

Day 3

Barranco to Karanga Camp

Barranco Wall scramble, then a short day for acclimatisation.

Day 4

Karanga to Barafu Base Camp

Alpine desert to base camp, early dinner and rest.

Day 5

Summit night: Uhuru Peak, then Mweka Camp

Midnight start, Stella Point, Uhuru Peak and the long descent.

Mweka Camp to Moshi
